Our team supports a wide range of industries by producing everything from precision-crafted components to complex enclosures, all in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.Job DescriptionThe Precision Machinist is responsible for producing machined parts by setting up and operating manual mills, lathes, and various shop equipment, including drill presses, wet saws, belt sanders, and hydraulic presses. Materials commonly used include steel, aluminum, and plastics. Most work involves production quantities, so the ability to maintain a steady, efficient pace with a strong sense of urgency is essential.Key Responsibilities:Interpret work orders, blueprints, orthographic drawings, and GD&T to plan machining workSet up and operate manual mills and lathes with varying tool attachments (chucks, cutters, mandrels, arbors, dividing heads, etc.)Operate drill presses, wet saws, belt sanders, and hydraulic pressesPerform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges, and rulersVerify machining accuracy through first-run part checks and sample workpiece measurementsMaintain compliance with ISO 9001 quality standardsPerform equipment maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctionsSupport stock and tool inventory managementRequired Skills & Experience:Minimum 3 years’ experience as a machinistProficiency with manual mills and lathesAbility to interpret blueprints and technical drawingsStrong math skills (geometry, trigonometry)Experience in quality control, including First Article and PPAP inspectionsStrong organizational, verbal, and written communication skillsKnowledge of tool management and maintenanceAbility to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbsHigh attention to detail and accuracyPreferred Qualifications:Experience in sheet metal manufacturingCNC machining experience, including programming and G-code editingFamiliarity with ISO 9001 quality standardsProcess improvement experienceKnowledge of supply management and inventory controlEquipment ExposureVertical milling machinesEngine lathes (20” x 60”)Second operation lathesWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
