Manufacturing EngineerRole Type: Permanent DayshiftLocation: Nr WalsallAn exciting opportunity to join one of Midland's premium engineering and manufacturing businesses.They are a genuine market leader in their field and are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team to affect and develop manufacturing solutions.The Manufacturing Engineer’s key responsibilities will be:Understand the requirements of AS9100 quality system and the effect on manufacturing solutions.Using knowledge and experience, define the correct manufacture process for a variety of machined components.Identify correct material specification, heat treatment and testing requirements to ensure the component meeting customer requirementsLiaise with sales to highlight missing order information early to ensure on time delivery.Maximize profitability by improving planned routing wherever possible and minimizing waste of materials, transportation and labor.To maintain a professional but friendly working relationship with all suppliers and colleagues within The Group.To liaise with all departments in order to expedite the intended workflow and help resolve quality and logistical issues.The successful candiate for the role of Manufacturing Engineer will have: EssentialAbility to read engineering drawingsEngineering experience within the manufacturing industryExcellent numeracy skillsKnowledge of international material standards (ASTM / ISO / BS)Knowledge of international dimensional standards (ISO / DIN / BS)CAD software knowledgeExtensive knowledge and experience in the practical application of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement techniques, including 5S, 8 Wastes, 7 Quality tools, TPM and Statistical Process Capability.A team player with the ability to work on own initiative, and able to influence others by demonstrating a positive “can do” attitude.Ability to work at pace in a multi-project environment.Good communicator at all levels.Good problem-solving skills DesirableKnowledge of ERP systems (Epicor)Nuclear sector knowledgeDefence sector knowledgeFastener knowledge including the manufacturing processes involved, including but not limited to: -CNC machining, Hot Forging, Heat TreatmentMechanical Testing, NDT testingPlating Finishes.Planning engineeringAn understanding of materials and specsIn return the successful candidate for the Manufacturing Engineer position will receive:Salary up to £45000 per annumOpportunity to work in exciting projects26 days holiday + Bank HolidaysEmployee support A welcome and inclusive working environment For more information on this role, please contact Paul Furlong on 01453 829789 or send a copy of your CV to paul.furlong@omegaresource.co.ukCandidates who are currently a Production Engineer, CNC Programmer, Production planner or Process Engineer may be suitable for this positionFor details of other opportunities available within your chosen field please visit our website www.omegaresource.co.uk
