The Finance Group is a growth-oriented finance consulting firm offering fractional CFO, accounting, payroll, HR, and business advisory services to small, medium, and large businesses across Canada. Founded in 2022 by industry veterans, we’ve scaled to 40+ finance professionals and served over 300 clients with an emphasis on transparency, trust, and strategic insight. Role OverviewAs the Director of Marketing, you will lead the creation and execution of our marketing strategy, with the goal of accelerating brand awareness, demand generation, client acquisition and partner relationships. You’ll work closely with the Executive Team (President / CEO, Sales, Service Delivery) to align marketing efforts with our business objectives in the fractional finance services space.You’ll own brand positioning, digital & content marketing, demand-gen programs, events, thought leadership, and analytics. The ideal candidate is hands-on, strategic, and comfortable in a fast-growing services business.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with company growth targets (new business, client retention, partner ecosystem)Define and refine our brand positioning, value proposition, messaging and visual identity to clearly differentiate The Finance Group in the marketLead content strategy: create and manage whitepapers, case studies, blog posts, webinars, video content, email campaigns and social media to engage target audiences (CFOs, finance leaders, growth-oriented businesses)Drive demand generation initiatives: digital advertising (PPC, LinkedIn, Google), SEO/SEM, partnerships, account-based marketing (ABM) and lead-nurture programsManage and measure marketing funnels/end-to-end performance: from brand awareness → lead generation → pipeline → revenue, reporting on KPIs (MQLs, SQLs, conversion rates, cost per acquisition, ROI)Collaborate with Sales and Service teams to ensure seamless lead hand-off, alignment of campaigns with sales pipeline, and enablement of client-facing materialsOversee events, webinars and industry conferences: select opportunities, plan logistics, coordinate content, and measure impactBuild and lead the marketing function both internally and externally. Stay current with trends in professional services marketing (finance, advisory, B2B services) and emerging digital channels. Recommend and implement innovative tactics to stay aheadManage marketing budget and allocate spend strategically across channels and programsFoster a strong brand culture internally: provide marketing training, ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints (web site, sales decks, proposals, social channels)Required Qualifications & Skills8+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (Director‐level or above) in B2B professional services, consulting, finance/ accounting services, or advisory firmProven track record of designing and executing successful marketing strategies that drove measurable growth (lead generation, revenue impact, brand building)Deep experience with digital marketing channels (SEO/SEM, PPC, LinkedIn advertising, marketing automation, email nurture, social) and content marketingStrong analytical skills: comfortable with data, marketing analytics, tracking metrics, ROI, dashboards and continuous optimizationExcellent leadership skills: ability to hire, develop, manage high‐performing team and external vendor/agency relationshipsExcellent written and verbal communication, with ability to create compelling content for senior business decision-makers (CFOs, CEOs, Boards)Experience with marketing technology stack: CRM (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), marketing automation (e.g., Marketo, Pardot, HubSpot), analytics tools (Google Analytics, BI)Comfortable working in a fast-growth, entrepreneurial environment where processes may evolve and flexibility/adaptability are keyStrategic thinker with strong execution orientation: able to set vision and roll up sleeves to implementBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or relevant field (MBA a plus)Preferred QualificationsExperience marketing professional services in the finance, accounting, consulting or fractional leadership spacePrevious success in account-based marketing or targeted enterprise lead generationFamiliarity with industry associations, finance/CPA networks, and business advisor referral ecosystemsWhat We OfferA meaningful leadership role where your marketing strategy will directly impact company growth and brand positioningA collaborative, high-integrity culture where we value ownership, transparency and learningFlexible remote work environment (with occasional travel when needed)Competitive salary + performance bonus tied to growth metricsOpportunity to build and shape the marketing organisation from the ground upProfessional development support to stay ahead in marketing and finance services
