Join us and shape your story with Mott MacDonald, where everyone has the opportunity to be brilliant.About The RoleMott MacDonald is looking for a Materials Inspector to ensure that all materials used in the project are compliant with the project’s specifications and approved by all relevant authorities.Key responsibilities and dutiesare listed, but not limited to, the below:Review and approval of the contractor’s proposed materials and methods as instructed by the Senior Resident Engineer.General oversight of the contractor’s daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance and guidance on the contractor’s operations.Attend and lead inspections on site as requiredFollow up testing and approvals from the relevant authoritiesReview of contractor’s testing requests and following completed reports.Review and approve the contractor’s submissionsMonitor the performance of material delivery and accuracy of materials used on siteCoordination with contractor’s supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence and method of workEnsure and monitory compliance with the contractor’s scheduleContinuous field inspections of the work in the progress; consultation with both the Resident Engineer’s and Contractor’s supervision staffPreparation of reports to the Resident Engineer on contractual and procedural matters.Candidate SpecificationBachelors qualified with an engineering degree in a relevant disciplineExperience in large construction programmes and design-and-build contractsProven experience of working on large infrastructure and/or Landscape projects in the regionGood knowledge of local materials standardsSafeguard - To operate ethically and with integrity, while prioritizing safety and security in all that you doKnow how to prioritize, advocate focus and accountabilityUse clear and frequent communications, drive execution and results.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Flexible workingAt Mott MacDonald, we support our staff to create work-life balance which works for them and welcome candidates looking for career flexibility.
