This role will report directly to the Director Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Global Supply Chain and Materials Management organization.The Opportunity:We are establishing in Torreon, Mexico, and this position will play an important role serving customers across the Americas and enable future growth in the region. The Materials Manager is a key leadership role overseeing Materials Planning and Supply Chain operations, ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently and on time. You’ll lead the planning and supply team, responsible for end-to-end materials management (from supplier performance and procurement coordination to production scheduling, inventory optimization, and ERP-driven planning processes)What Makes this a Great Opportunity:Join a globally recognized company that is at the forefront of its industry, with a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation.Opportunity to influence how materials planning, supply chain and ERP processes are designed and executed for long-term success.Opportunity to build and coach a high-performing team that will grow with the site as production scales.Opportunity to drive a real impact influencing operational efficiency, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Lead and develop the planning and supply chain team, ensuring robust capability across demand management, SIOP, MPS, production control and inventory management.Own the material strategy to support on-time delivery, cost optimization, and inventory health.Oversee supplier performance and drive collaboration with procurement and global supply chain teams to ensure material availability, quality, and cost efficiency.Manage master production scheduling to balance demand, capacity, and resources, aligning with customer delivery targets.Utilize and continuously improve ERP and digital planning tools (SAP or equivalent) to enable accurate, efficient, and data-driven decisions.Lead SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) for the site, partnering with cross functional teams to align plans and resolve constraints.Ensure strong inventory control, including managing work-in-process, finished goods, and raw materials to meet enterprise and financial targets.Drive continuous improvement in materials flow, planning accuracy, and supply performance through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.Represent the function in plant reviews, corporate supply chain meetings and project milestones.Champion safety, quality and operational excellence in every process and decision.Preferred Experience and skills:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.8+ years of experience in material management, planning, or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment.Proven success managing planning and supply teams in high-mix make-to-order or engineered-to order operations.Strong experience in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and solid understanding of master data (BOMs, routings, work centers).Demonstrated track record in continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred)Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to manage large data sets and convert data into actionable insights.Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across functions and levels.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where building processes and teams is part of the challenge and excitement.Fluent in English and Spanish
