Job OverviewThe Bluebell team is pleased to announce an opportunity to join the Maidenhead community team as a Maternity Care Assistant.The successful applicant will join the Maidenhead community team as a Band 3 Maternity Care Assistant on a full-time basis (37.5 hours/week).This is an internal vacancy looking for an experienced Band 3 Maternity Care Assistant to work within a busy community team and to assist midwives with the support of women throughout their antenatal and postnatal journey.Main duties of the jobThe role will involve visiting women in their homes with their new baby, taking new born bloodspot samples and assisting with baby care and infant feeding. You will be a front-line ambassador for public health issues, also working in hubs as they develop in each area. Some administrative duties will be expected in order to support the Midwives and full training will be given.You should be level headed, able to stay calm in a busy environment and work on your own initiative with minimum supervision, have good customer care skills and plenty of energy, patience and motivation and you will need to demonstrate care and compassion to women.Previous experience is essential and you must have undertaken the Maternity Care Assistants care certificate course. You must have attended the maternity specific training days and passed the BFI two day training.
