Position Title MATH TUTOR - METCS Reports To ChairpersonFunctions And ResponsibilitiesJob SummaryUnder the supervision of the Chairperson of Mathematics,Engineering Technologies & Computer Sciences or designee, the Math Tutor will assist the MTH 0905/100 professor by providing both in-class and outside-of-class support to students in order to improve overall class academic performance.Please Note: Essex County College does not provide visa sponsorship of any kind. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and for the duration of employment.Compensation: This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $27.00 per hour.Join a collaborative, mission-driven college community dedicated to student success and academic excellence.Supervisory RoleOral and written instructions are received from the Chairperson of Mathematics, Engineering Technologies & Computer Sciences or designee.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAttend all class sessions held in the lab in order to support students while they are completing individual class work and/or small group work assigned by the professor.Be available in class to provide one-on-one assistance to any student who needs supplemental help during the professor's lecture.Be available outside-of-class for an additional scheduled number of hours each week to tutor students either in a one-on-one or small group format.Perform other related duties as required.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities andfunctions of the job and are not meant to be all inclusive.
