The selected applicant will be expected to conduct high-quality research in the field of information systems, leading to peer reviewed scholarly publications. Particularly, we seek scholars whose research focuses on business information systems security, cybersecurity analytics, and networking analytics.
Additionally, the selected applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in business information systems security, cybersecurity analytics, and networking analytics. We welcome applicants who apply quantitative methods to solve business information systems security and networking problems. Additional job duties include service at the department, college, university, and professional levels. Texas State’s San Marcos campus is located in a growing community along the I-35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio.

The ISA Department hosts a university-wide undergraduate minor in Analytics, offers a Master of Science in Data Analytics and Information Systems and BBA in Computer Information Systems (Business Analytics Concentration), proposes a new BBA in Analytics, and contributes to the Master of Business Administration. A or be ABD from an internationally accredited institution in Information Systems, Information Systems Security, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. ABD candidates are expected to successfully defend their dissertation by the date of hire. The candidate must have an active business-related research agenda in one or more of the following areas: information security analytics, networking analytics, or business information systems security. Preferred QualificationsEvidence of effective teaching information systems security/networking/networking analytics courses at undergraduate level.
Experience in teaching information systems security/networking/networking analytics at graduate levelMinor in Business Analytics, Decision Sciences, Management Science, Data Science, Quantitative Methods, Applied Statistics, AI, or Operations Research. Coursework in Business Analytics, Decision Sciences, Management Science or Data Science, Quantitative Methods, Applied Statistics, AI, or Operations Research. Industry consulting experience in information systems security/networking and analytics. Evidence of effective teaching online/hybrid courses. Track record/potential for publications in peer-reviewed high-quality journals.
