Mechanical Design Engineer

Job DescriptionDue to continued growth, we are now looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Wolverhampton.You will be joining an experienced team, in a pre-dominantly office based role, and be responsible for developing and delivering mechanical designs to facilitate safe and compliant installations on site.What You Would DoDesigning in conjunction with fire strategy reports, local building regulations & planning authority requirements.Attending Design team meetings.Carrying out site surveys of existing installations where applicable.Producing heating/cooling (thermal modelling) and ventilation load calculations using industry softwareSizing and selection of AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHP, boilers, plate heat exchangers etcProducing above ground drainage calculations and sizing of drainage systemsSizing and selection of domestic hot and cold-water equipment (heaters, storage tanks etc)Producing pipe and duct sizing calculations using industry software or other desktop spreadsheetsSizing and selection of firefighting sprinkler and pumping systems (preferred but not essential)Producing stage reports & presentations.Preparing Designers Risk Assessment and Mitigation ReportsDetailing mechanical layouts & schematics for build.Meeting project delivery deadlines.Production of detailed design and survey reports.QualificationsExtensive experience in the Mechanical Engineering building services for constructionMechanical Engineering Degree or equivalentGood knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS &EN Irish, UK standards or ASHRAE.Working knowledge of design software such as Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, CyMap, IES/TAS requiredAbility to work in a rapidly changing environment.Strong communication skillsAdditional InformationHaving an inclusive and flexible culture helps the business continue to grow as a strong, dynamic and innovative organisation.As Well As Being Supported And Encouraged To Develop Your Career Here At King And Moffatt, We Also Offer The FollowingCompetitive salaryProfessional Development support Employee Assistance Program Health and Wellness programs Bike to work schemeAt King and Moffatt, we believe in the power of diversity and inclusion to drive innovation, creativity, and success.
