Mechanical Design Engineer

Required a mechanical design Engineer with the following qualificationsHVACPerform load calculations (heating, cooling, ventilation, etc.) using software such as HAP, or Carrier E20.Determine equipment sizing and selection (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, etc.).Develop schematic diagrams, system layouts, and detailed design drawings in AutoCAD or Revit.Design ductwork and piping systems, considering pressure drops, velocity, and space constraints.Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISHRAE, CIBSE, etc.).·         Prepare technical specifications, equipment schedules, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).·         Develop design documentation for tender, construction, and as-built stages.·         Evaluate green building compliance (LEED, Estidama, BREEAM, etc.) ·         Recommend improvements to reduce operational costs and carbon footprint.Plumbing:·       Design and develop complete plumbing systems, including:o  Cold and hot water supply systemso  Sanitary drainage and vent systemso  Stormwater drainage systemso  Water treatment, filtration, and storage systemso  Fuel gas and medical gas systems (as applicable)·       Perform hydraulic and pressure loss calculations to size pipes, pumps, valves, and fixtures properly.·       Determine and select pumping systems, water heaters, valves, and fixtures based on project requirements and standards.·       Prepare schematic diagrams, isometric drawings, and riser diagrams.·         Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards, such as:·       IPC (International Plumbing Code)·       UPC (Uniform Plumbing Code)·       NFPA (for fire and fuel gas systems)·       Local building codes and health department requirements·       Incorporate sustainability practices (e.g., water-efficient fixtures, greywater reuse, rainwater harvesting).Fire Protection: Design fire protection systems, including:·       Automatic sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge)·       Fire hydrant and hose reel systems·       Fire suppression systems (foam, gas, water mist, CO₂, etc.)·       Fire detection and alarm systems·       Fire pump and water storage systems Perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler and hydrant systems using software like Elite Fire, AutoSPRINK, or HYENA. Design fire alarm cause-and-effect matrices and integrate them with other building systems (e.g., HVAC, elevators, access control). Ensure the system layout allows for adequate coverage, pressure, and flow as per standards. Code Compliance and StandardsEnsure all designs comply with local and international codes and standards, such as:o  NFPA (National Fire Protection Association)o  SBC (Saudi Building Code)o  FM Global, UL, BS, or EN standardso  IBC (International Building Code) and IFC (International Fire Code)o  Local civil defense or authority requirements·       Conduct fire risk assessments and incorporate mitigation strategies.·       Stay updated with code revisions and regulatory requirements Software and Tools Knowledge required·       AutoCAD / Revit / Civil 3D – for drafting and BIM modeling·       MS Office / Project – for reporting and project documentation·       Navisworks – for clash detection and coordination
