The Engineering Manager role centers on leading a design-focused engineering team and ensuring that mechanical engineering expertise is applied throughout all project stages. The position requires developing and managing the engineering team to deliver high-quality design engineering submissions, supported by strong mechanical understanding when interpreting client specifications and guiding detailed engineering tasks.A key responsibility is to direct, plan, and coordinate complex project engineering assignments, including preparing technical specifications and detailed plans. Mechanical engineering knowledge is essential for identifying design shortcomings, recommending improvements, and ensuring that engineering solutions meet functional and application requirements.The role also involves overseeing the preparation and final approval of engineering drawings and documents, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and suitability of components through close liaison with external vendors. Leading a team of engineers and engineering assistants, the manager ensures that detailed engineering and interfacing work with clients is executed effectively, reflecting strong technical grounding across engineering disciplines. Experience in hydraulics, winches, mooring systems, oil & gas equipment will be beneficial.In addition, the Engineering Manager is responsible for the department’s budget, resources, hardware, software, scheduling, and priority setting. The position requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields, at least five years of engineering management experience, and strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills—particularly important when guiding teams performing daily mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering tasks. Experience in the Oil & Gas and Marine & Offshore industry will be essential.
