About UsGemco Rail, a subsidiary of Engenco Limited is the leading independent provider of rollingstock maintenance, products and services to the Australian and New Zealand rail markets.Gemco Rail specialises in the manufacture, maintenance and overhaul of wagons, locomotives, passenger cars, rollingstock components and track maintenance equipment to support our customers to maintain their operations effectively and efficiently and maximise the life of their assets.About The RoleWe are currently seeking a driven and experienced full-time Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Forrestfield, Western Australia.Key ResponsbilityTo be successful in this position you will need to:Repair and overhaul of air brake componentry associated with Rail rolling stockManufacture product with a high degree of skill and abide by customer contract specificationsEnsure works are completed within the time allowed at the required quality and quantityEnsure that all work undertaken complies with company Quality Assurance procedures and workmanship standardsTake responsibility for the output and quality of work performedEnsure all documentation and certification is completed correctly Display safe work practices, sound problem solving skills, and demonstrate initiativeDemonstrate sound mechanical fitting trade and machining skillsWork both unsupervised and part of a team, adhering to strict deadlinesPerform general fitting dutiesParticipate in rail industry specific safe work trainingHave aptitude in fault diagnosticsThis role will report to the Project Delivery Manager.About YouEssential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:The following qualifications or experience will help the candidate succeed in this role:Experience on Pneumatics preferably rail rollingstock air brake systemsExperience in the rail industry, especially in maintenance of rollingstock or related componentsExperience in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment or mobile plant and equipmentLathe experience (Manual)Experience with precision measurement equipmentHave a C-Class driver’s licenceHave a National High Risk Work Licence Why Join UsOpportunities for Career Growth and Development: Unlock your potential with professional development initiatives, such as our Learning Academy Scholarships to support your ongoing learning and career development.
