NFL week 12: Chiefs v Colts, Packers v Vikings and Bears v Steelers – live

9.00pm GMT Final score: Batlimore Ravens 23-10 New York Jets The Ravens very close to taking over top spot in the AFC North if the Steelers lose the close one in Chicago. 8.59pm GMT Chiefs 17-20 Colts 3:32, 4th quarter Chiefs are up past midfield after Rashee Rice turns a short pass into a 47-yard gain up the sideline. They are on 3rd and 8 at Indy’s 48. Mahomes throws it short of the sticks and Noah Gray holds on. Unfortunately he takes a huge blow to the head from hitting the turf. 4th down on the way. 8.57pm GMT Heading into the final few minutes we have four games separated by a field goal. Chicago Bears 31-28 Pittsburgh Steelers Cincinnati Bengals 20-23 New England Patriots Detroit Lions 24-27 New York Giants Kansas City Chiefs 17-20 Indianapolis Colts The Bengals just scored from a 17-yard pass from Joe Flacco to Mitchell Tinsley! Let’s go! 8.53pm GMT Chiefs 17-20 Colts 4:43, 4th quarter Kansas City should have had an interception as two defenders collide when going for the ball. Two incompletions force another rapid 3rd down. 10 yards to go at midfield. What have you got? Jones throws it well short of the sticks and Indy go for it on 4th down! Only they pull the classic fake but fail to catch KC offside. Punt. 8.50pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Bears 31-28 Steelers 6:27, 4th quarter Muuuuuuuuuth! The Steelers hit back as Mason Rudolph finds Pat Freiermuth for a three-yard touchdown. 8.49pm GMT Chiefs 17-20 Colts 6:33, 4th quarter Now Indy’s defense respond with a big sack on 2nd down. On 3rd and 11 at their 10-yard line Mahomes drops back and lofts a mis-thrown ball to nowhere. Punt. Big stop for the Colts. This is getting really tense. Tony Romo says Mahomes is rushing and needs to calm down. 8.46pm GMT Final score: Green Bay Packers 23-6 Minnesota Vikings Another rough day for JJ McCarthy as Green Bay thrash Minnesota. The second-year quarterback finished 12/19 for 87 yards, two interceptions and a rating of 34.2. 8.45pm GMT Chiefs 17-20 Colts 12:27, 4th quarter Another lightning quick stop for Kansas City. Indy punt and this looks to be unravelling now for the Colts. They were looking so strong but the Chiefs defense have stepped up when it matters. 8.41pm GMT Ravens 20-10 Jets 2:12, 4th quarter All-pro safety Kyle Hamilton is out with what looks like a serious injury. He makes it off the field under his own steam but will not be returning. Bad news for Baltimore. 8.39pm GMT PICK! Lions 24-27 Giants 10:03, 4th quarter Never change Jameis. Winston throws an interception to give Detroit a huge boost. They take over on New York’s 45-yard line. 8.38pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Chiefs 17-20 Colts 12:27, 3rd quarter Kareem Hunt gets AIRBORNE! He goes up and over the line of scrimmage to get the goal line score. Rashee Rice then makes an easy catch for two points. 8.36pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Lions 24-27 Giants 10:50, 4th quarter “Every time he touches the ball, you think he will score,” the colour commentator says in Detroit. About who? Who else. Jahmyr Gibbs rips off a 49-yard touchdown run to put the Lions back in the hunt. The star running back now has 146 yards on 12 carries with one touchdown on the ground and 25 yards on eight catches with a receiving touchdown. Crazy numbers. Updated at 8.43pm GMT 8.33pm GMT Chiefs 9-20 Colts 12:12, 4th quarter Oh no. Tight end Noah Gray drops a clanger. The ball whistles through his hands as for what would have been a touchdown. On 2nd and 10 Mahomes takes off and picks up the 1st down. Crunch time now. The Chiefs have 30 yards to go for a very important touchdown. 8.30pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Bears 31-21 Steelers 14:14, 4th quarter Kyle Monangai gives Pittsburgh a mountain to climb with a two-yard touchdown run. That drive was sparked by a sack fumble from the Chicago defense. Difficult to see the Steelers coming back without a big play from their defense. 8.29pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Lions 17-27 Giants 12:16, 4th quarter Shocking tackling from Detroit allows Gunner Olszewski to walk into the end zone for a 33-yard score. The Giants are in complete control on the road. The defender should be a little embarrassed there he gets his arms on the receiver and just flops over allowing Olszewski to just step over him. 8.27pm GMT Chiefs 9-20 Colts 14:02, 4th quarter Kansas City get the quick stop and Indy have to punt it away. 8.23pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Titans 17-30 Seahawks 1:18, 3rd quarter QB Cam Ward takes it on his own up the middle for a 24-yard touchdown run. Excellent improvisation from the rookie. The Titans will love to see the young passer showing such promise. 8.21pm GMT FUMBLE! Chiefs 9-20 Colts 14:56, 4th quarter Kansas City in deep, deep trouble. Kareem Hunt fumbles and Zaire Franklin is there for the Colts to recover. Indy take over near their own end zone. Updated at 8.25pm GMT 8.19pm GMT Packers 20-6 Vikings 10:29, 4th quarter What looked like an OK day for JJ McCarthy has descended into chaos again. He takes a fifth sack and almost concedes a safety. Punt. 8.17pm GMT PICK! Lions 17-20 Giants 2:16, 3rd quarter Huge play by the Giants! The ball sails through the hands of Amon-Ra St Brown and floats up for an age … and into Jevon Holland’s arms. I asked if the Giants could hang on and this will certainly give them a great chance of doing exactly that. A touchdown would be very useful here. 8.14pm GMT Fourth quarter time We are entering the final quarter in a lot of these so here is how we stand across the boards: Baltimore Ravens 17-10 New York Jets Chicago Bears 24-21 Pittsburgh Steelers Cincinnati Bengals 13-17 New England Patriots Detroit Lions 17-20 New York Giants Green Bay Packers 20-6 Minnesota Vikings Kansas City Chiefs 9-20 Indianapolis Colts Tennessee Titans 10-30 Seattle Seahawks Can the G-men hang on for a huge upset? Can Chicago stay on top of Pittsburgh? Let’s find out. 8.11pm GMT It’s good! Chiefs 9-20 Colts 1:25, 3rd quarter KC’s defense are stepping up with a good stand in the red zone. They force a field goal try from 23 yards that the Money Badger makes. Two-score game now. Your move, Patrick. 8.08pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Titans 10-30 Seahawks 8:11, 3rd quarter Seattle reassert themselves thanks to a five-yard Zach Charbonnet scamper. To get them there Jaxon Smith-Njigba has just broken the single-season record in receiving yards. He has 1,309 on the season from only 11 games. That is frankly ridiculous. He is going to cruise past 2,000 if he stays healthy. 167 today. Updated at 8.08pm GMT 8.05pm GMT Bengals 13-17 Patriots 7:51, 3rd quarter The Bengals defense is on fire. Unsatisfied with forcing a turnover on downs on the goal line they commit PI to give the Pats a fresh set of downs. They then stop New England AGAIN! And actually turn it over on downs this time. Massive. 8.03pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Bears 24-21 Steelers 8:29, 3rd quarter Chicago take the lead! Rome Odunze cooks Jalen Ramsey with an excellent route to find himself in space in the end zone. Caleb Williams whips it straight at the receiver who clings on for the 25-yard touchdown. 8.00pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Titans 10-23 Seahawks 10:22, 3rd quarter Tennessee’s special teams pick the slack to give the Titans some life with a 90-yard punt return touchdown. Amazing run up the right sideline from Chimere Dike. 7.59pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Ravens 17-7 Jets 3:33, 3rd quarter The Jets totally give up on defense on 4th down in a strange turn of events. Derrick Henry walks it in and this one is looking bleak after a great start for the Jets. 7.52pm GMT It’s good! Chiefs 9-17 Colts 9:12, 3rd quarter The Chiefs stiffen and force a 3rd down with four yards to go for Indy. Big moment here. Daniel Jones drops back. He misses, by a mile, his receiver as Chris Jones pressures the QB. He feels the pressure but can’t make the pass to the wide open Josh Downs. Mike Badgley hits the field goal from 32 yards to nudge the Colts a little further ahead. 7.49pm GMT Chiefs 9-14 Colts 11:31, 3rd quarter Indy moving nicely into Chiefs territory. They convert a 3rd down and then Jones hits Alec Pierce deep to the right for 27 yards and the Colts are in the red zone just like that. 7.47pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Titans 3-23 Seahawks 13:39, 3rd quarter Jaxon Smith-Njigba is having his way with the Titans. He makes space in the back of the end zone and makes the catch falling to the floor. A 13-yard touchdown and his second on the day. The star wideout has 155 yards on six catches. 7.44pm GMT Chiefs 9-14 Colts 13:34, 3rd quarter Excellent start for Indy who force KC to punt after the restart. 3 and out is not what the Dr. ordered. 7.43pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Ravens 10-7 Jets 8:49, 3rd quarter Baltimore making a meal of a drive in the red zone. On 2nd and goal Derrick Henry runs into his own lineman and hits the deck. He gets the next handoff and makes amends. He bursts through for a one-yard score. 7.42pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Packers 17-6 Vikings 10:43, 3rd quarter Emmanuel Wilson gets his second touchdown of the game with a one-yard run. As easy as it gets. Myles Price the Viking who messed up the punt catch. Packers make him pay. 7.40pm GMT Packers 10-6 Vikings 11:53, 3rd quarter Green Bay punt it way as Jordan Love throws one into the dirt. The Packers QB is not having the greatest day so far. He is 9/15 for 99 yards, no touchdowns and no picks. Fortunately for Love the punt is muffed and Green Bay recover! Love is back on the ball with 15 yards to go for a touchdown. Updated at 7.40pm GMT 7.37pm GMT Ravens 3-7 Jets 14:33, 3rd quarter Baltimore are first out of the traps and get a very handy pass interference call on 3rd and 15. Mark Andrews is roughed up as he tries to make the grab. The Ravens swoop down 34 yards with that one to inside midfield. 7.33pm GMT Half-time The scores on the doors at the halfway mark: Baltimore Ravens 3-7 New York Jets Chicago Bears 17-21 Pittsburgh Steelers Cincinnati Bengals 13-17 New England Patriots Detroit Lions 17-20 New York Giants Green Bay Packers 10-6 Minnesota Vikings Kansas City Chiefs 9-14 Indianapolis Colts Tennessee Titans 3-16 Seattle Seahawks The Patriots have responded well after going behind early while the New York teams will also be rather pleased. Long way to go for both considering the offensive firepower against them but still top work for both to be leading. In massive field goal news Evan McPherson just smoked one from 63 yards. Nice and tight in all of them except Seattle dominating Tennessee. In the big game Indy are looking good to hand Mahomes the first three-game losing run of his career. Updated at 7.34pm GMT 7.24pm GMT It’s good! Chiefs 9-14 Colts 0:19, 2nd quarter Confusion on the 3rd down play as Rice catches the ball sat down. One zebra gives the score and the other says out of bounds. The latter wins as Rice’s posterior is clearly out of bounds. Harrison Butker chips the 22-yarder through the posts. Indy doing a great job of limiting KC to three field goals in the red zone. 7.22pm GMT Chiefs 6-14 Colts 0:19, 2nd quarter Sauce Gardner is beaten in the end zone by Rashee Rice but the ball flies through the receiver’s hands on 2nd & goal. The throw just off the mark from Mahomes. 3rd and goal incoming. Updated at 7.23pm GMT 7.20pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Bears 14-21 Steelers 1:31, 2nd quarter Kenny Gainwell by name, Kenny Gainwell by nature. Another shootout is in the offing after Pittsburgh show tush push but run it out wide with Gainwell who sprints in for the 56-yard gain. Incredible trickery. They are on the one-yard line. Warren runs in for the score. 7.18pm GMT It’s good! Packers 10-6 Vikings 0:10, 2nd quarter Great drive from McCarthy there to draw Minnesota a little closer. Will Reichard steps up and smashes a 59 yard field goal through. Ridiculous. 7.17pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Lions 14-17 Giants 2:16, 2nd quarter A lovely shootout is developing in Detroit. Jahmyr Gibbs runs the show on this scoring drive. The running breaks a 49-yard run to put his team three yards from the end zone, then catches the short pass to the right to just scrape the ball on the pylon. Touchdown! 7.15pm GMT Packers 10-3 Vikings 0:33, 2nd quarter JJ McCarthy just ripped a beautiful throw in traffic to Justin Jefferson for 19 yards. An equally brilliant catch as he is immediately blasted by a defender. Sadly McCarthy loses seven yards after being sacked two plays later. 3rd down with 60 yards to go and not much time. 7.11pm GMT Chiefs 6-14 Colts 1:50, 2nd quarter Kansas City get the stop and force Indy to punt. Mahomes will take over on their 15-yard line. Big stop and they have a lot of clock to potentially level this one up going into the half. 7.10pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Bears 14-14 Steelers 3:56, 2nd quarter Chicago can relax a bit after Caleb Williams finds rookie Colston Loveland for the 12-yard equalising touchdown. 7.09pm GMT Pick six! Bengals 10-14 Patriots 7:42, 2nd quarter Joe Flacco coughs up an ugly pick six to gift the Pats the lead. That one will make Drake Maye feel better about his pick six earlier in the game. The veteran QB slings it lazily to his left and Marcus Jones reads it like a book as he jumps the route. Jones runs it back 33 yards for the score. 7.03pm GMT It’s good! Chiefs 6-14 Colts 2:19, 2nd quarter Harrison Butker nails a 48 yard field goal after the drive stalls. Kansas City could do with a stop after giving up successive scoring drives. 7.01pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Lions 7-17 Giants 8:21, 2nd quarter Jameis Winton is on a heater as he throws his second touchdown pass with a 12-yard strike to Isaiah Hodgins. Updated at 7.02pm GMT 7.00pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Ravens 0-7 Jets 4:04, 2nd quarter New York take a surprising lead after Tyrod Taylor finds John Metchie for an 13-yard score. The Jets defense has been playing a blinder so far. 6.59pm GMT Chiefs 3-14 Colts 6:00, 2nd quarter KC are at midfield on another long drive. They have already used 10 plays, converted a 4th down and it has been rolling for six minutes. Midfield! C’mon Andy Reid lets open the playbook up a bit. 6.57pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Bengals 10-7 Patriots 9:36, 2nd quarter Drake Maye doesn’t wait long to hit back with a 28-yard touchdown to Hunter Henry. Game on. 6.52pm GMT Bears 7-14 Steelers 12:06, 2nd quarter Pittsburgh have forced another turnover! Derrick Harmon recovers the ball after D’Andre Swift can’t keep it under control on a run play. Steelers take over at midfield. 6.50pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Lions 7-10 Giants 11:41, 2nd quarter Another classic combo dials it up to put Detroit just three points behind. Jared Goff dumps it short to Amon-Ra St Brown who fights through the Giants and into the end zone for the 11-yard score. 6.49pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Titans 3-10 Seahawks 11:02, 2nd quarter Sam Darnold drops a bomb to Jackson Smith-Njigba for a 63-yard touchdown. Those two might have a few more massive plays in this one. 6.48pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Chiefs 3-14 Colts 10:31, 2nd quarter Alec Ogletree extends Indy’s lead with a beautiful balletic catch in the back of the end zone. Daniel Jones fires it in and Ogletree just puts his left foot in bounds with his back facing the crowd. He couldn’t see where his feet were landing but he instinctually keeps it inbound. Chiefs need a response. Updated at 6.48pm GMT 6.45pm GMT Pick six! Bengals 10-0 Patriots 14:19, 2nd quarter OK so we said the Bengals defense was doing well, well they are doing a whole lot better than that. Drake Maye is picked off by Geno Stone who returns the ball for 33-yard touchdown. Amazing. 6.43pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Bears 7-14 Steelers 14:34, 2nd quarter TJ Watt picks up the strip sack touchdown as he takes down Caleb Williams in the Bears end zone. Williams drops the ball as he falls and Watt is on top of him to give Pittsburgh the lead. That Steelers pass rush is firing on all cylinders, watch out Chicago! 6.38pm GMT It’s GOOD! Chiefs 3-7 Colts 14:51, 2nd quarter The 28-yard kick is good but the Chiefs fans are not happy as boos rain down. Gene Steratore has stuck the knife in on commentary too as he points out KC could have reviewed the facemask call against them which he believes should have been overturned. The drive flamed out thanks to good coverage but still a very positive one of 17 plays in which the Chiefs moved the ball with ease on the ground and pinpoint short passes. Updated at 6.38pm GMT 6.36pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Bears 7-7 Steelers 0:30, 1st quarter DK Metcalf receives a short pass out left and he romps home for the six-yard score. Level in Chicago. 6.32pm GMT Chiefs 0-7 Colts 0:11, 1st quarter Touchdown is chalked off for Travis Kelce after an offensive face mask penalty. That is a killer penalty that moves the Chiefs back 15 yards to the 20-yard line. Ouch. Updated at 6.32pm GMT 6.29pm GMT Chiefs 0-7 Colts 1:00, 1st quarter The Chiefs pick up a nice chunk of 10 yards with a pass to Worthy then hand it to Hunt who moves the stick again. Chiefs are 1st & goal. 6.28pm GMT Bengals 3-0 Patriots 5:28, 1st quarter New England are rather surprisingly struggling against the historically inept Bengals defense. Two drives so far and two punt for the Pats. 6.27pm GMT Chiefs 0-7 Colts 3:14, 1st quarter KC are leaning on the running game to take some pressure off Mahomes. Kareem Hunt barrels them across midfield but they stall out to 3rd and 1. Hunt gets the ball again and moves the chains. About 30 yards remain for the Chiefs. Methodical drive trying to avoid turnovers. 6.25pm GMT Bears 7-0 Steelers 5:11, 1st quarter Pittsburgh are across midfield after a sweet 21-yard throw into the deep right of the field from Mason Rudolph to Ben Skowronek. 6.22pm GMT Chiefs 0-7 Colts 8:06, 1st quarter Mahomes takes over on offense again. Will want to put that shocker of a pick behind him with a strong drive. His first throw picks up the first down with an 11-yard strike to Xavier Worthy. About 60 more yards to go to level it up. Updated at 6.22pm GMT 6.19pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Chiefs 0-7 Colts 8:11, 1st quarter The interecption is converted by Michael Pittman on a six-yard catch from Daniel Jones. What a start for Indy. TOUCHDOWN! Bears 7-0 Steelers 8:28, 1st quarter Caleb Williams throws one out to the right for DJ Moore who finishes it off from five yards to get the Bears going. TOUCHDOWN! Packers 7-0 Vikings 9:15, 1st quarter Backup running back Emmanuel Wilson starts his day off right with a one-yard run up the gut for the score. 6.16pm GMT PICK! Chiefs 0-0 Colts 8:54, 1st quarter Nightmare start for Kansas City. Patrick Mahomes attempts a pass on his own goal line and the ball is bobbed up in the air and caught by Colts defender Laiatu Latu. Incredible play. Updated at 6.20pm GMT 6.10pm GMT TOUCHDOWN! Lions 0-7 Giants 12:56, 1st quarter Can you believe it?! The first touchdown of the day might just be the best. The Giants dial up the trick play on 3rd and 2 as Jameis Winston gets the ball back after handing it off confusing the Lions who all descend on the runner leaving Wan’Dale Robinson wide open in the end zone. He catches with ease for the 39-yard touchdown. Updated at 6.12pm GMT 6.01pm GMT I’m loving the picture of Andy Reid and Shane Steichen having a chinwag while watching Patrick Mahomes go through his warmup. Anyone for a little caption competition a la Have I Got News For You? Message me in your best Paul Merton. 5.54pm GMT Preamble Hello football family, welcome to week 12! The season is really shaping up now as we begin to round the final few bends toward the home stretch. It is indeed still all to play for as no team has yet been eliminated from playoff contention. Those 1-9 Tennessee Titans better get cracking then. As should, for a postseason adventure more steeped in reality, the 5-5 Kansas City Chiefs in your jumbo package of seven games at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (home teams listed first): (5-5) Baltimore Ravens v New York Jets (2-8) (7-3) Chicago Bears v Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) (3-7) Cincinnati Bengals v New England Patriots (9-2) (6-4) Detroit Lions v New York Giants (2-9) (6-3-1) Green Bay Packers v Minnesota Vikings (4-6) (5-5) Kansas City Chiefs v Indianapolis Colts (8-2) (1-9) Tennessee Titans v Seattle Seahawks (7-3) A visit from the playoff-bound Indianapolis Colts is one of the last teams Patrick Mahomes and company will have wanted to roll into town but if you want to be the best then you have to beat the best. How the Chiefs respond to last week’s gut-punch loss to Denver will be very intriguing as will the level of play from Indy’s quarterback Daniel Jones. If KC can get after Jones then turnovers could flow into a sweet victory that would end a two-game losing streak. If the Colts do pull off a minor upset then it would be the first time Mahomes has lost three regular season games in succession. How the mighty have fallen … maybe. Elsewhere, Pittsburgh Steelers fans might be watching through their fingers as Mason Rudolph will lead the offense against the surging Chicago Bears. Starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers misses out with a fractured wrist. With the Baltimore Ravens likely to make light work of the New York Jets we may have a new leader of the AFC North tonight. Green Bay will also be without big name talent with running back Josh Jacobs not ready for action against Minnesota. Emmanuel Wilson will be taking handoffs today at Lambeau Field as the Packers look to keep pace just behind Chicago in the fierce NFC North. Let’s go!
