Mechanical QA/QC Engineer

Job Purpose:To ensure that all mechanical (MEP) materials, installations, and related activities comply withproject specifications, codes, and client/consultant requirements. The Mechanical QA/QC Engineer isresponsible for inspecting, testing, documenting, and approving MEP materials and works inaccordance with approved quality procedures and standards.Key Responsibilities:1. Material Control & InspectionReview material submittals, datasheets, and certificates for compliance with project specifications and standards.Coordinate with suppliers and procurement for technical evaluation and approval of MEP materials.Conduct incoming material inspections and verify compliance with approved submittals and standards.Maintain updated records of all approved and delivered MEP materials.2. Quality Assurance & ComplianceImplement and monitor QA/QC procedures and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for all mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, etc.).Ensure all MEP works comply with applicable codes, standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, ASTM, etc.), and project requirements.Review and verify test reports, calibration certificates, and compliance documentation.3. Site Inspection & CoordinationPerform site inspections for installation, testing, and commissioning activities.Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and site engineers for material and work inspections (RFI, MIR, WIR).Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.4. Documentation & ReportingPrepare and maintain all QA/QC documentation related to mechanical materials and works.Ensure proper filing and traceability of inspection records, submittals, and approvals.Generate daily and weekly QA/QC reports for project management and client submission.5. Continuous ImprovementSupport continuous improvement by identifying and implementing quality enhancement opportunities.Participate in QA/QC meetings and audits as required.Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Minimum 5+ years of experience in MEP QA/QC roles within construction or infrastructure projects.Strong knowledge of MEP materials, specifications, and international standards.Familiarity with QA/QC documentation systems and ISO 9001 quality standards.Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and QA/QC software tools.Key Competencies:Detail-oriented and methodical in inspection and documentation.Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems.Effective collaboration with site and procurement teams.Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
