And our way of working smarter.As Media Relations Specialist, in the Group Communications (GCO) department, your mission will be to enhance and protect Proximus' global reputation through external communication channels targeting our various stakeholders. At the same time, the department makes sure that employees feel engaged and act as ambassadors by informing and involving them in strategic, business and corporate priorities.Within Group Communications, you will work in the Press & External Relations team. You will support Proximus spokespersons in preparing for, following up and working on interactions with the media. Together with the team, you will build and maintain relationships with journalists, proactively convey the company's key messages and ensure that questions are answered in a timely and appropriate manner. By doing so, you will contribute to building a strong reputation and trustworthy image of Proximus among the general public, our customers and stakeholders.Tasks And ResponsibilitiesContribute to the corporate communications agenda: You help identify topics of strategic or tactical relevance, spot communication opportunities and assess proposals from colleagues based on their newsworthiness.Initiate and co-develop communication plans: You take an active role in shaping the right approach for optimal return in the media. Together with your colleagues, you build a 360° approach and ensure consistency in messages on internal and external channels.End-to-end organization, execution and follow-up of communication initiatives: Based on a briefing you determine the key messages around a topic and work out concrete communication materials: you write press releases and statements, you help organize and prepare press meetings or interviews and you report on the results of your actions.Monitor media coverage: You closely follow media coverage about Proximus and its competitors, share insights with the colleagues involved and, if necessary, make specific recommendations in terms of communication.Building relationships: you regularly meet with journalists and build, maintain and develop a network of existing and new relationships to ensure optimal coverage.Deal with inquiries from the press: You help gather accurate information and knowhow to process complex input into a clear, balanced and timely response. Over time, you will also be able to occasionally act as back-up spokesperson.Advising colleagues: You act as a sparring partner for colleagues and management, provide a thorough briefing for media interventions and interviews and preparing them for both factual and tricky questions.Your profileYou have a degree in communications, journalism, languages or political science, or you have at least two years of equivalent experience in a communications role.You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.You follow current events and social trends closely and have a broad interest in economics, technology and innovation.You have a passion for language and strong writing skills and are comfortable expressing yourself verbally.An excellent knowledge of Dutch (spoken and written) is required. Good knowledge of French and English is an asset.You are not afraid of a challenge and do not shy away from the spotlight, microphones or cameras.You are stress resistant, can prioritize and don’t lose sight of the big picture, even under time pressure and in stressful situations.You are flexible and adapt easily to new circumstances.You're a team player.
