Position Profile: The Medical Advisor provides strategic medical leadership and expert guidance to the Sustainable Development Unit within WA Health. This role is pivotal in integrating health considerations into climate change policy and sustainable development initiatives across the health system. Key Responsibilities IncludeMedical Leadership & Strategic Support:
Lead and support the integration of medical perspectives into sustainability planning and climate resilience strategies. Expert Advisory Role: Deliver authoritative medical advice on the health impacts of climate change, including mitigation and adaptation strategies, and contribute to the development of emissions reduction targets. Policy Implementation: Represent the system manager in the development and execution of climate-related health policies, ensuring alignment with state and national sustainability goals. Environmental Reporting: Oversee the medical aspects of environmental footprint reporting for WA Health, contributing to transparent and accountable sustainability practices.
