The Medical Coder will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to diagnoses and procedures from patient records. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing medical documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to resolve discrepancies in documentation. The role also involves maintaining confidentiality, keeping up-to-date with changes in medical coding guidelines, and contributing to the overall accuracy and efficiency of health information management. Qualifications Proven experience in Medical Coding and proficiency in utilizing coding systemsStrong knowledge of Medical Terminology, CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding practicesCertification such as RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) is highly preferredBackground in Health Information Management or similar fieldStrong analytical and attention-to-detail skills to ensure coding accuracyFamiliarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standardsAbility to work independently in a remote setting with reliable access to technologyBachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience is a plus
