It reminds each one of us that what we do matters.JOB PURPOSE:Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Medical Office Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients, as well as providing support to physicians and medical staff.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Answering phones, greeting, and registering patientsProvide panel management support to physiciansResponding to patient enquiries in person and by phoneInitiating forms and collecting payment for services not covered by insuranceEscorting patients to exam or treatment rooms and preparing patients for physicianCleaning and preparing exam and treatment rooms between patient visitsPerforming diagnostic testing as ordered by the physician including urinalysisPerforming Blood pressure readings (using automated BP monitor), temperature readings, height and weight measurements as ordered by the physicianScheduling and notifying patients of appointmentsScanning patient documents into electronic medical records as requiredCompleting daily, monthly and weekly chore lists as requiredPerforming other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalentMedical Office Assistant Qualification is an assetRecent customer service experienceExperience with Med Access or Electronic Medical RecordsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProblem solving skillsProficiency in medical terminology is an assetMust be able to handle confidential information in compliance with the Health Information ActWe appreciate your interest in working with us; however, only those applicants selected for interviews will be contacted.
