This role works together with 1-2 other specialists greeting callers and visitors, providing information, and directing inquiries to the appropriate place. Checking clients in and booking their next appointment as well as offering administrative support to clinicians (resource sharing, chart management, scanning/faxing) means this position is critical to smooth clinical flow.The Medical Secretary plays a key role in maintaining the overall welcoming tone of the reception area and responds effectively to problems and difficult situations that may arise. As the first point of contact for clients, this role must be sensitive to the barriers that many individuals face when accessing health care services.
