At Michener, we make healthcare happen.Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThis position is responsible to provide administrative and clerical support to the teaching Chiropody clinic – Chiropody students, clinical staff and patients. This unique teaching clinic has 15 treatment rooms that support both the patient and the academic curriculum for our chiropody students.ResponsibilitiesGreeting and communicating with patients, students and employees – in person, telephone, writingAnswer and respond to all internal/external phone calls, emails and inquiriesProcess payments, create receipts and reconcile billings for patients and the finance departmentInput information into electronic medical patient chartsSchedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar efficientlyWork with external vendors and agencies Maintains confidentialityOrder/receive supplies and organize inventoryTo assist in ensuring efficient operation of the clinicOverseeing appointment payments, receipts and transactionsWrite a variety of formal notes and records such as meeting minutesOther duties as assignedQualifications1-3 years experience in customer service environmentMedical Office Assistant Diploma or equivalent an assetExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer/student focusPrevious experience with Telus PS Suite Electronic Medical Record would be an assetProficient computer skills and speed accuracy for typingProficient in MS Office programs at an intermediate levelStrong organizational skills and multitasking abilitiesAbility to multi-task and work under pressureAbility to work independently as well as in a team environmentGood judgment, independent decision making and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of health care environments and familiarity with medical health terminology an assetQuick learner and able to adapt to a variety of task requests and respond to the needs of various team membersSatisfactory Canadian Police Clearance document required upon hireAdditional InformationQualified applicants are invited to submit a detailed resume and cover letter.Closing Date: Until filledFor further information on The Michener Institute, please visit our website at www.michener.ca.The Michener Institute is publicly funded by the Ministry of health and is a respectful, caring and inclusive workplace.
