Ensures delivered automation systems adhere to applicable domestic and international standards and to company and manufacturing site’s EHS policies and SOP’s. Provide support and troubleshooting for PLC’s, motion control, vision applications, robotic systems, and PC controlled equipment. Provide technical expertise in manufacturing process activities. Establish the most effective, reliable and cost-effective processing methods for manufacturing operations. Defines and selects new approaches and implementation of CAD software engineering applications and design specifications and parameters. Understand and provide outlines and utility programs. Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval.

Provides subject matter expertise to vendor automation related stakeholders as appropriate and performs test, debugging and troubleshooting activities on mission critical automation systems. Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval. Provide support for SOPs, qualification protocols, gap assessments, risk assessment, Impact Assessment, user requirements, functional and configuration specifications, requirements traceability, validation plans, validation summary reports and change controls. Support PLC Software and Vision system validations. Develops routines and utility programs. Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval.

May specify materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of projects and may evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Develops and applies computer aided design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems. Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C. F. R. 214.

2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. Bachelor Degree in Engineering requiredNice to HaveExperience in medical devices, pharmaceutical or electronic industryExposure or Experience to high volume, synchronized automated equipment running at rates of 35, 40, 100+ppm's; high precision assembly, Allen Bradley PLC, Servo motion controls, computer machine vision systems, Robotics, complex pneumatics, electrical wiring, mechanical assemblies and sensor. Applications Development using an object-oriented language (i. e. C#, VB. Net)SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, java and database design desirable. PLC programming experience.

Experience building new control systemsKnowledgeable & experienced in mechanical, electrical/electronic design, programmable logic controls (PLC) – Allen Bradley, pneumatic systems, motor control, vision systems, and instrumentation. Experience integrating Automation systems to MES systems for data collection and controlVision system design and integration for inspecting, locating and positioning. Experience with Robots/Cobots. Network design and debugHMI development and troubleshooting.
