Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Thursday 0900-1700, Friday 0900-1630 The post holder will work under of the supervision of the Mental Health Act Administrator to gain a wide knowledge and experience of Mental Health Legislation which encompasses:  Mental Health (Care & Treatment)(Scotland) Act 2003   Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 as amended by the Mental Health (Care & Treatment)(Scotland Act 2003 Act  Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000  There is no specific external training available to staff to learn about the above legislation and the administrative arrangements that are required to support the practice of the legislation. Staff are supported through extensive local training by senior staff to allow them to develop a body of experience in dealing with the different types of detentions.  Knowledge of Mental Health legislation equivalent to an SVQ Level 3  Working knowledge of main aspects of Mental Health legislation which will be gained through an appropriate induction and training led by the Health Records Manager or the Supervisor.  IHRIM Basic Level Certificate of Technical competence  ECDL or equivalent experience   Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate with a range of people.  Please note this is a GGC wide post and can be moved to any location, however initial base will be Leverndale Hospital This post is permanent.This post may close sooner than the advertised date depending on the level of interest in the post Informal contact: Irene Whyte, Health Records Manager, On 0141 211 6628 or email Irene.whyte2@nhs.scotDetails on how to contact the Recruitment Service and the Recruitment Process: Information for candidatesNHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde- NHS Scotland encourages applications from all sections of the community.
