Since our inception in 2004, we’ve prioritized collaboration, excellence, and community impact across the Baltimore/Washington region.Position OverviewThe MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Superintendent oversees all field operations related to MEP systems on construction projects. This role ensures that mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and low-voltage systems are installed according to project specifications, safety standards, budget, and schedule. The MEP Superintendent coordinates subcontractors, works closely with the project management team, and ensures high-quality execution in the field.Key ResponsibilitiesField Oversight & CoordinationSupervise day-to-day installation of MEP systems on job sitesCoordinate and schedule activities of MEP subcontractors to maintain project timelinesMonitor field progress and resolve conflicts between tradesConduct regular site walks to verify quality and compliance with drawings and specificationsTechnical ExecutionReview MEP drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals for accuracyIdentify potential issues with design or installation and propose solutionsEnsure proper installation sequencing and integration with structural and architectural elementsOversee testing, commissioning, and start-up of MEP systemsSafety & Quality ControlEnforce company and OSHA safety policiesEnsure MEP subcontractors follow safety procedures and required PPEInspect installations for quality and adherence to building codes and project standardsDocument deficiencies and verify corrective actionsCommunication & DocumentationLead MEP coordination meetings with subcontractors, engineers, and the GCReport progress, issues, and schedule impacts to the Project ManagerMaintain daily reports, logs, and photo documentationSupport change order documentation and RFI processesProject Scheduling & BudgetProvide input for the project schedule focusing on MEP milestonesMonitor manpower, productivity, and subcontractor performanceHelp assess impacts of changes and delays related to MEP scopeQualifications Required5–10+ years of experience in MEP construction or related field supervisionStrong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systemsAbility to read and interpret MEP drawings, BIM coordination models, and specificationsProven leadership and subcontractor coordination skillsStrong problem-solving and communication abilitiesPreferredExperience with commercial, industrial, or large-scale construction projectsOSHA 30 certificationKnowledge of scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)Familiarity with BIM tools (Navisworks, Bluebeam, Procore, etc.)Typical Reporting StructureReports to: Project Executive/Director of Field OperationsSupervises: MEP subcontractor foremen, field crewsWorks closely with: General Superintendent, MEP Engineers, Safety Manager, QC ManagerBenefitsWe offer competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including:Medical, vision, dental401K with a company matchEmployee Assistance Program20% rental discount at our propertiesOpportunity to work on challenging and rewarding projectsChance to make a real impact on the built environmentCollaborative and supportive work environmentOpportunities for professional development and growthSage Ventures is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
