TITLE: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) CoordinatorTEAM/PROGRAMME: ProgramOperation Egypt Country OfficeLOCATION: Cairo GRADE: 5CONTRACT LENGTH: 11 monthsContingent upon confirmation of funding and project durationChild SafeguardingLevel 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.Role PurposeThe Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Coordinator provides technical support to a group of psychosocial support facilitators and volunteers as well as others if applicable, in Greater Cairo or other governorates, ensuring high-quality implementation of activities. The role includes planning with the team, participating in assessments, providing guidance, delivering training, and conducting regular field monitoring of activities. The coordinator is also responsible for all administrative tasks related to the team.Scope Of RoleReports to: MHPSS OfficerStaff reporting to this post: MHPSS FacilitatorsKey Areas Of AccountabilityProgram Implementation Plan with the MHPSS team to implement psychosocial support activities in educational centers and among beneficiaries in various locations, according to a clear timeline and high-quality standards. Provide ongoing technical and supervisory support to facilitators and volunteers (of Palestinian, Egyptian, and other nationalities if present) to ensure the quality of psychosocial sessions in alignment with established principles and practices. Conduct regular field monitoring visits to ensure activities are implemented in a context-appropriate and child-centered manner. Coordinate with the managers of educational centers and child-friendly spaces to organize and facilitate psychosocial support activities. Support the implementation of community awareness campaigns related to child and family mental health and psychosocial well-being. Ensure the integration of MHPSS activities with other educational or life skills components based on the context. Oversee all administrative responsibilities related to the MHPSS team, including work schedules, weekly follow-up, session documentation, and coordination with relevant offices. Lead and coordinate all logistical aspects of the MHPSS component, including planning purchase requests, managing supplies and materials, and organizing financial advances in coordination with the admin and finance teams. Ensure continuous follow-up of the MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) plan in coordination with the MEAL team, and ensure timely documentation of activity-related data and indicators. Contribute to the development of emergency response and MHPSS intervention plans for sudden crises affecting children or beneficiaries.Reporting and Documentation Compile monthly reports reflecting the progress in the MHPSS activities implementation, assist the team in highlighting success stories and documenting challenges encountered during the implementation of activities. Work with project participants and team members to monitor, document, and share information, including success stories and lessons learned. Contribute to the development and updating of the project database and monitoring system, and ensure activities are carried out in alignment with agreed indicators on a regular basis.Partnerships / Networks Develop strong and positive working relationships with field staff and other SCI departments such as MEAL, communications, and finance. Assist in creating networking events and exposure opportunities for beneficiaries to expand their access to various service providers and stakeholders. Support the development of effective partnerships and community networks that enable youth and adults to engage in discussions around solutions for children and youth at risk.In Case of Emergency Promote children's rights and contribute to their well-being and protection during emergencies, guided by humanitarian principles and the code of conduct. During emergencies, act in a way that facilitates Save the Children’s emergency response, prioritizing all assigned duties. Be prepared to support SCI interventions during emergencies and demonstrate the required flexibility and responsiveness.General Serve as a positive example in adhering to Save the Children policies and practices, especially with regard to child safeguarding, the code of conduct, health and safety, and equal opportunities. A university degree in Psychology or another related field is required.Experience And Skills Experience in conducting trainings working with refugee/marginalized communities is a must. Familiar with psychological support programs for non-specialists such as peer support programs, PM+, HEART, and Resilience... Etc. Experience in one or more types of art in facilitating activities and has the skill of training facilitators on how to use the arts to facilitate MHPSS activities for beneficiaries. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in administrative work. Ability to create networks and positive collaborations with different stakeholders to benefit the beneficiaries.
