In support of our York, PA manufacturing facility and service center, Microtrac is seeking a Field Service Technician/Engineer who is located with easy access to major airports.

The service person must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and trained professional engaged in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and customer training activities. This position requires technical training at our York, PA facility. Training sessions will be up to a few weeks to start and will be scheduled as and when needed. Doing what is funInstall and commission instruments at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and user confidence from day one. Deliver operation and software training to users, enabling effective and safe utilization of our technology. Conduct field repairs and preventive maintenance services, minimizing downtime and maximizing customer productivity.

Provide timely phone and e-mail support, ensuring customer issues are addressed efficiently. Build and nurture strong customer relationships, enhancing our reputation as a trusted partner. Accurately document service visits and maintain clear records, supporting continuous improvement and compliance. Adhere to company policies and standards to maintain service excellence and safety. As Field Service Technician/Engineer you're a perfect match, if. . . You have a Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline. At least 3 years’ experience servicing or repairing laboratory instruments at customer locations is part of your background.

Knowledge of optical, mechanical, electronics, and computer systems forms your technical foundation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills allow you to excel even in challenging environments. Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues is a strength, even under pressure. A detail-oriented approach to documentation and reporting comes naturally to you. Self-management, multitasking, and effective time management are among your key skills. You are willing and able to travel up to 75% domestically, with easy access to major airports.
