Mid-Level Backend Engineer (AWS | Serverless | Fintech)Salary: 100,000 NGNAbout the RoleWe are seeking a talented Mid-Level Backend Engineer who is passionate about building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate thrives in cloud-native environments, has strong hands-on experience with AWS serverless architecture, and actively uses AI coding assistants (such as GitHub Copilot and Codex) to enhance productivity and code quality.In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and developing microservices and event-driven systems within a dynamic and fast-paced fintech environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using modern cloud-native architecturesBuild and deploy serverless applications using AWS LambdaDesign, optimize, and manage data models in DynamoDBDevelop and maintain microservices-based and event-driven systemsImplement GraphQL APIs using AWS AppSyncCollaborate closely with frontend, product, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutionsBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deploymentWrite comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testsEnsure high standards of security, performance, and reliability, particularly within fintech compliance environmentsEffectively leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development while maintaining high code qualityRequired Skills & Experience3–6 years of backend development experienceStrong hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly:LambdaDynamoDBAPI GatewayEventBridge / SNS / SQSExperience building microservices and event-driven architecturesStrong experience with GraphQL and AWS AppSyncPrevious experience working in a fintech or regulated environmentSolid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practicesExperience with automated testing frameworks and testing best practicesStrong understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed systemsProficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, Java, or Go)Comfortable using AI-powered coding tools to improve productivityNice to HaveExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation)Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of security best practices in financial systemsExperience with observability and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, etc.)Exposure to high-availability and high-throughput systemsWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on cutting-edge fintech productsModern serverless architectureHigh ownership and autonomyA collaborative and innovation-driven culture
