Job Description

The Human Resources Assistant will join our team at our Calgary Head Office location to share in our passion for beauty.  This entry-level position offers excellent potential for growth and development within the company.  The ideal candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. They should be able to work independently and thrive in a collaborative environment. Eagerness to learn and gain working knowledge of Canadian employment laws, HRIS, and payroll administration is essential. The successful candidate will also be reliable, dependable, and have an eye for detail.

Staffing SupportEmployee relationsOpen door policy for employees to see you and feel comfortable to discuss their challengesIdentifying and resolving questions and concerns pertaining to HR and work-related issuesAssist in responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programsEncourage and lead a pleasant company culture for all staffEmployee Retention and EngagementAssist in planning and executing team building activitiesInform staff on new hires and employee resignation/termination via emailHelp with organizing weekly Wednesday meetingCompile Modern Monthly NewsletterSending Happy Friday emailsUse of Generic Modern and Mod cards for birthdays, recognition (above and beyond, big sales, improvement, winning contests), anniversaries, life events (marriage, new baby), condolences, welcome to the team, thank you/appreciationRecruitment CycleAssist in facilitation of employee trainingInform marketing of all new hires/resignation for online website, business cards, etc.

Assist in planning and conducting new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goalsEmployee contact information- regularly updating staff phone listEnsure office space is set up for new employeesGather welcome package contentFiling of all contracts, offer letters, etc.
