About the roleAt the National Zakat Foundation New Zealand (NZF) we are dedicated to the local collection and distribution of Zakat to support and uplift Muslims in need across Aotearoa. We aim to utilise Zakat funds and voluntary donations collected in New Zealand for the benefit of local, deserving recipients. Our vision is for Islam to flourish in society as a source of prosperity and harmony for all. As a Case Officer, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the caseload of clients who apply for Zakat.
This includes assessing eligibility for Zakat according to Shariah-compliant principles, understanding the needs of applicants, and coordinating appropriate and timely support. Skilled in assessing complex information with high attention to detail and making sound, informed decisions. Casework approach is rooted in fairness, professionalism, and a deep respect for privacy and dignity. Key Responsibilities and Skills路 Possess above-average understanding of Zakat, including its practical application and procedural requirements. 路 Conduct assessments through interviews and evidence verification to determine eligibility for Zakat following Shariah guidelines. 路 Ability to speak in positive and humble manner with the clients who apply for Zakat. Being patient & respectful with their situations and finding out the actual need for Zakat.
路 Use Zoho to manage client data, maintain accurate case records, and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information. Training is provided. 路 Deliver exceptional customer service, especially in sensitive and high-pressure situations. 路 Develop and maintain individualised care plans, making adjustments to ensure the plan remains effective for the client鈥檚 needs. 路 Ability to analyse bank statements and other legal documents. 路 Strong time management and organisational skills to handle multiple cases while meeting deadlines. 路 Reporting on weekly/Fortnightly basis路 Ability in bilingual or multilingual communication would be an added advantage.
