Job Description

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated System Administrator to manage and maintain our company's information technology infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of our systems, supporting our team, and contributing to our overall business success. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMware virtualization and Windows 11 environments, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing excellent user support.  Key Responsibilities: Senior System Administration & Infrastructure Management: VMware Management: Install, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere environment (ESXi hosts and vCenter Server). Monitor virtual machine performance, resource utilization, and storage.

Perform routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades of VMware components. Manage virtual machine provisioning, snapshots, and cloning. Troubleshoot VMware-related issues, including host connectivity, storage, and VM performance.   Windows Server Management: Administer Windows Server operating systems, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Manage server roles and features to support business applications. Perform regular server patching, updates, and security hardening. Monitor server health, performance, and capacity.  Network Management: Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls. Configure and maintain network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Implement and manage VPN solutions for remote access. Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement, monitor, and test robust backup solutions for all critical data, including virtual machines and user data. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans tensure business continuity. Perform regular data recovery tests. Security: Implement and enforce IT security policies and best practices. Manage antivirus/anti-malware solutions across all endpoints and servers. Monitor for security threats and vulnerabilities. Conduct regular security audits and provide recommendations for improvements. Educate users on cybersecurity awareness and best practices. End-User Support & Desktop Management:  Windows 11 Support:

Provide first-line and second-line technical support tend-users for Windows 11 desktops and laptops. Install, configure, and troubleshoot software applications on user workstations. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Assist with hardware issues (laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals). Hardware & Software Procurement: Assist in evaluating, recommending, and procuring new hardware and software. Manage IT asset inventory. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Develop and update IT policies. General IT Operations: Respond tand resolve IT support requests efficiently and professionally. Monitor system performance and proactively identify and address potential issues.

Collaborate with external vendors and Managed IT Service Providers (MSPs) as needed for specialized support or projects. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant tthe company's IT needs. Participate in IT projects as assigned. Qualifications: Proven 5 years experience as an IT Generalist, System Administrator, or similar role, preferably in a small tmedium-sized business environment. Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter).  In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (e. g. , Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022) and Active Directory. Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows 11 client operating systems.

Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs) and network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls). Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions. Familiarity with IT security best practices and endpoint protection. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability texplain technical concepts tnon-technical users. Ability twork independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Relevant certifications (e. g. , CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSA, VCP) are a plus. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Strong communication skills in English and Greek (both written and spoken)
