For Recruiters:- At this time, WLC is not accepting 3rd party candidate representation for this role.Position Details:- Network and security engineer functions.- Full time contract position, fully remote.- Mon-Fri normal business hours following the seasonal EST(UTC-5) and EDT(UTC-4) time.- After hours maintenances Sun-Sat nights, as required and scheduled in advance.Responsibilities:- Member of the Infrastructure Engineering, Operations, and Planning group, reporting into the Manager of Infrastructure.- Build, operate, manage, and improve upon both the core telecommunication services network and the corporate multi-office network. This including transit, WAN, LAN, remote access, peering, network automation, inside plant engineering, core and edge security, and backbone.Qualifications:- Quiet and secure workspace with a minimum of 2 good quality Internet connections, from which to complete WLC tasks and responsibilities using WLC-provided equipment.- Three, or greater, years of Cisco core and edge routing and switching experience, in an engineering role, within Service Provider and/or Data Center environments.- Python scripting abilities for automation purposes.- Fluent with advanced Cisco-based security platforms, configurations, monitoring, alerting, management, and troubleshooting.- Confident managing inside plant power, cables, interconnects, racks, cabinets, hozitontal and vertical layouts, assets, etc. related to network infrastructure.- Deep configuration, functionality, and troubleshooting knowledge of multi-chassis multi-location HA/fail-over techniques, BGP, VRF, MPBGP, ACLs, VLANs, HSRP, and OSPF.- Understanding and familiarity of AAA management, monitoring functions, systems backups, and change management methods.- Expert in building, managing, configuring, and maintaining development, lab, pre-production, and production infrastructure, such as but not limited to firmware, seperation of traffic, network and/or traffic isolation, and centralized logging.- Ability to develop and maintain compliance for ISO 27001, SOC2, HIPAA, and PCI standards and certification requirements.- Experience with Fortinet routers, switches, and security a plus.
