About The RoleThe Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s and clients' network infrastructure. This includes LAN, WAN, Internet, intranet, and communication systems. The role will ensure that the network operates at peak efficiency and meets the business objectives for connectivity, security, and performance. The Network Engineer will also provide technical expertise in the planning and execution of complex network projects. Responsibilities Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, Internet, VPN, and wireless networks to ensure optimal performance and security. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis for recurring problems.
Install and configure network hardware (e. g. , routers, switches, firewalls, access points) and associated cabling or wireless infrastructure. Manage firewalls and network security policies including intrusion detection and prevention. Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of network and system resources. Conduct regular network assessments, audits, and penetration testing to ensure compliance with security standards. Provide support for network-related escalations from the helpdesk and resolve complex network incidents. Maintain up-to-date documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and processes. Implement and maintain VoIP solutions, including Quality of Service (QoS) configurations. Support cloud networking environments (e. g.
, Azure, AWS) and hybrid network configurations. Evaluate new networking technologies and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades. Plan and execute network expansions, relocations, or changes with minimal disruption to operations. Participate in the design and deployment of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions for networking. Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve external connectivity issues and manage SLAs. Support business development efforts by advising on network design during client proposal phases. Provide mentorship to junior network and support engineers. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a network engineering role. In-depth knowledge of network protocols (e. g. , BGP, OSPF, MPLS), Layer 2 and 3 switching and routing. Proven experience with Cisco, Fortinet, or similar enterprise-grade networking equipment. Proficient in firewall configuration and network security principles. Experience with network monitoring tools (e. g. , PRTG, SolarWinds, Wireshark). Familiarity with cloud networking and virtual networks (Azure, AWS, GCP). Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent preferred. Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure in a high-demand technical environment.
