The Royal Children's HospitalDandenong, Casey & Upper Ferntree Gully locationExcellent employee benefits including salary packaging Ongoing training and development opportunities About The RoleThis role is for a casual Newborn Hearing Screener with the Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Program (VIHSP). The successful candidate will be employed as required by The Royal Children's Hospital to conduct newborn hearing screening at Upper Ferntree Gully, Dandenong and Casey.You will be responsible for conducting hearing screens on newborns in accordance with VIHSP protocols and procedures. You will communicate with parents in a sensitive and accurate manner, while maintaining thorough and timely documentation across multiple IT systems.Classification for this position will be AO21 Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021 - 2025What You’ll AchieveContribute to the early detection of newborn hearing loss, ensuring that infants receive timely diagnosis and intervention.Provide family-centred, compassionate, and clear communication with parents about the screening process.Assist in the smooth operation of administrative duties, supporting efficient service delivery.Uphold the high standards of VIHSP, maintaining accurate records and assisting in quality assurance activities.Work effectively with the VIHSP team and hospital staff to support newborn hearing care.Your Skills And ExperienceAbility to communicate clearly and professionally with families, stakeholders and other team members.Proficient in data entry and general administrative tasks.Experience or ability to work in a hospital environment.Experience or comfort working with newborns.Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.If this sounds like you, click here to view the position description.About The DepartmentThe Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Program (VIHSP) is dedicated to early detection of hearing loss in newborns across Victoria, ensuring timely intervention and support for affected families.
