Private Equity Associate in Tokyo - Exclusive Role by XG PartnersFirm: A leading US-based Global Private Equity Fund, launch a new office in TokyoLocation: Tokyo, JapanOverview: Our client, a top-tier global private equity investor with a more than $20 billion flagship fund, is establishing a new office in Tokyo. The Tokyo office will focus primarily on large-cap buyouts, typically with equity checks starting from $150–200 million and upwards. While sector-agnostic, the team will leverage global expertise across technology, consumer, healthcare, industrials, and other verticals.As part of the initial build-out of the Japan team, we are seeking talented Associates to join their Tokyo office. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly established team with strong global backing and a highly collaborative culture.Key Responsibilities: Participate in the full investment cycle including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, and execution of large-cap buyout transactions.Conduct detailed industry and company research, market analysis, and prepare investment memoranda.Support senior team members in structuring and executing transactions in collaboration with global deal teams.Work closely with portfolio companies on value creation initiatives post-acquisition.Engage with advisors, consultants, bankers, and other stakeholders across Japan and internationally.Candidate Profile: Background: 2–6 years of experience in investment banking or top-tier management consulting. Candidates with prior private equity or corporate development exposure are also welcome.Technical Skills: Strong financial and analytical skills, including modeling and valuation. Candidates from consulting backgrounds must demonstrate proficiency in financial modeling.Language Skills: Fluency in Japanese and strong English communication skills are required for long-term success.Personal Qualities: Collaborative, humble, and team-oriented personality.
