About LihirOur Lihir Operation, located on the beautiful island of Niolam, approximately 800km north of Papua New Guinea's capital, Port Moresby, is one of the world’s largest gold mines. Set within a geothermically active, extinct volcanic crater, Lihir operates an open-pit mine producing refractory ore, which undergoes pressure oxidation and conventional leaching to recover gold. Our workforce includes both residential and commute rosters, creating a diverse and dynamic team. Essential DutiesIn This Role, You WillAdminister equipment repairs and maintain parts and components inventory to ensure supply of components in line with maintenance and shutdown schedulesAdhere to compliance with safety protocols, relevant regulations and quality standardsSupervise and train team members in handling components and tracking supplyCollate and report data on work activitiesSupport in troubleshooting and solving issuesLiaise with other departments to ensure operational efficiencySchedule and complete PCR tasksProvide new employees with training on proceduresPerform regular inspections of equipment and facilitiesResponsible for assessing relevant risks, implementing mitigation measures, and continuously monitoring for risks.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance ,component rebuilds, project management, technical support, data analysis, and safety compliance. Strong knowledge that has been gained through work practice with mechanical project operations and safety protocols as well as in risk management and process optimization. Competent experience in leading and developing teams. Competent ability to interact, influence and resolve conflict with various stakeholders, stakeholder engagement and service skills understanding of relevant legal requirements. Able to perorm tracking and monitoring, of data recording and reporting. Competent knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for performance.
Competent knowledge of health, safety, environment and sustainability regulations and practices. Competent understand of project cost management and financial principles.
