Our mission is to engage youngpeople and adults, help them unlock their potential, and support them in bringingmeaningful change to their local communities.As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking Non-Executive Directors to join our Board and contribute their expertise to help guide LITC’s strategic direction, governance, and impact.Role SummaryAs a Non-Executive Director (NED), you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic vision of LITC and ensuring strong governance, accountability, and sustainability. This is an unpaid, voluntary position suited to individuals who are passionate about education, social impact, and lifelong learning.You will work closely with fellow Board members and the senior leadership team to support decision-making, offer independent oversight, and ensure the organisation continues to deliver exceptional outcomes for learners, employers, and communities.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic advice, challenge, and support to the Executive Team, formed of 4 directors and the chairman.Uphold strong governance and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.Monitor performance against strategic objectives and key outcomes.Contribute to risk management, financial oversight, and sustainable growth.Act as an ambassador for LITC, promoting its mission, values, and partnerships.Participate in quarterly Board meetings and occasional sub-committees or strategic planning sessions.Person SpecificationWe are particularly interested in senior candidates who bring substantial experience and strategic insight in one or more of the following areas:Further education and trainingBusiness development or strategic partnershipsFinance, audit, or risk managementHR, organisational development, or governanceDigital learning or technology in educationCommunity development or social enterpriseYou should be:A strategic thinker with sound judgment and integrity.Committed to LITC’s mission and values.Willing to contribute time, insight, and expertise for the benefit of others.Able to work collaboratively and provide constructive challenge.What You’ll GainThe opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to education and social change.Experience in governance and strategic leadership.Opportunities to network with leaders across education, business, and community sectors.Personal satisfaction from supporting an organisation that transforms lives through learning.LITC is an equal opportunities organisation.
