SummaryThis Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care) position serves the Central Texas VA Health Care System and Ambulatory Care Service at the Palestine VA Clinic.DutiesThe Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is a clinical provider that practices within the Rules and Regulations of the Nursing Practice Act of the state of licensureThe Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant collaborates with other disciplines to develop - implement - and coordinate a system of patient care delivery that promotes communication - teamwork - high quality care - patient satisfaction - positive outcomes - appropriate utilization of resources and cost-effective servicesThe Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant:- Is a registered nurse with advanced education and experienceDemonstrates leadership - experience and creative approaches to management of complex patientsFunctions in a variety of leadership roles that influence patient care - organizational processes and/or systems to improve overall outcomesIs an expert practitioner who assists nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team to clarify and meet health goals for individuals - families and specified patient populationsPossesses expert knowledge at administering injections and performing biopsiesDemonstrates competence in providing Well Women's HealthcareDemonstrates competence in performing emergency/urgent care dutiesVA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay: Competitive salary - regular salary increases - potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave - 13 days of sick leave - 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Qualifications Requirements: Nurse Practitioner: VA Handbook 5005/27 - Part II - Appendix G6 Telework: Not AvailableVirtual: This is not a virtual positionRelocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not AuthorizedPermanent Change of Station (PCS): Not AuthorizedWork Schedule: Monday - Friday0800-1630 CST
