Responsibilities include patient assessment, procedure preparation, intra-procedure support including circulating and scrubbing roles, post-procedure monitoring, and collaboration with the interventional team. This position requires critical thinking, technical proficiency, and a strong commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes. Essential FunctionsPrepares procedure suite and gathers necessary equipment and suppliesConducts pre- and intra-procedure patient assessments and documents findingsAssists with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and drapingCirculates, scrubs, and monitors patients during diagnostic and interventional cardiology proceduresAdministers medications and oxygen under direct supervision of a physicianOperates and maintains monitoring and procedural equipmentParticipates in patient recovery and post-procedure handoffsCommunicates effectively with patients, families, and care teamsSupervises and supports other Cath Lab personnel as neededAssists with conscious sedation and documentation per hospital policyParticipates in emergency response procedures, including defibrillation and IABP operationMaintains cleanliness and readiness of Cath LabParticipates in on-call rotation and complies with timely response expectationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities/ExpectationsProficient in EKG rhythm interpretation and invasive monitoringAbility to scrub, circulate, and monitor in a procedural settingDemonstrates sound judgment, adaptability, and effective problem-solvingStrong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skillsKnowledge of sterile technique, patient safety protocols, and procedural sedationFamiliarity with cardiac equipment including injectors, monitors, and hemodynamic systemsCapable of lifting 50-150 lbs with or without assistance; must use proper body mechanicsPhysically able to stand for long periods and perform frequent bending, reaching, and liftingQualificationsEducationGraduate of an accredited professional nursing program (diploma, ADN, or BSN)Licenses/CertificationsCurrent Registered Nurse license in good standingBasic Life Support (BLS) required within time frame required by facility policyAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within time frame required by facility policyPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within time frame required by facility policy (if applicable)Moderate/Conscious Sedation competency as required by facility policyExperienceMinimum of two years clinical nursing experienceOne year of Cath Lab or cardiac experience preferred
