In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown. To Ensure The Achievement Of This Large-scale Project, G Mining Ventures Is Looking For An Experienced And Motivated Individual To Fill The Position OfCarpenterWe are looking for a skilled and reliable carpenter to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with wood and other materials to create, install, and repair structures and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. As a carpenter, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including constructing frameworks, cabinets, doors, windows, and other wooden elements. Key ResponsibilitiesMeasure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials using a variety of hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to determine the layout and specifications of a project. Build, install, and repair structural elements such as floors, walls, and roofing frameworks.
Construct and install doors, windows, cabinets, shelves, and other carpentry-related items. Maintain and repair wooden structures and furniture in homes, offices, and commercial buildings. Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies. Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure timely and efficient project completion. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Estimate materials and project timelines for various carpentry projects. Qualifications/Skills And ExperienceCraft certificate and or on the job experience At least 3-5 years Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials. Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina. Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good problem-solving and critical thinking skillsWorking ConditionsPosition based at the OKO Project site. Fly-in/Fly-out. Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days OffTransport, accommodations, and meals provided on site. Compensation Package2-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.
