In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown. ElectricianThe Electrician responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across site infrastructure, including plant equipment, buildings, and camp facilities. Key Responsibilities Electrical Installation:
Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical systems, lighting, and fixtures in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance of electrical panels, circuits, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and tools, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements. Generator and Backup Power Systems: Operate, service, and maintain backup generators and other emergency power systems to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
Use appropriate PPE and safety procedures while working on live or high-voltage systems. System Upgrades and Modifications: Support system upgrades, retrofits, or expansions based on operational needs or efficiency improvements. Emergency Response: Respond to electrical emergencies such as power outages, short circuits, or equipment failures, minimizing operational downtime. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and material usage. Report major issues or recurring faults to the supervisor or maintenance manager. Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and trades (e. g. , plumbers, HVAC technicians) during installations or maintenance projects.

Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days OffTransport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
