Our ProfileIn 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown. Logistics ClerkThe Logistics Clerk will support daily logistical operations at the Oko Gold Wharf Landing on the Cuyuni River.
The successful candidate will assist with documenting cargo movements through manifests, maintaining accurate records, reconciling cargo such as diesel fuel, and preparing monthly reports to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations supporting our mining activities. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming cargo via barge and other transportation modes using cargo manifests. Maintain accurate and complete records of cargo movements, including loading, unloading, and transfer activities. Prepare, verify, and reconcile cargo manifests and related documentation, particularly for fuel such as diesel, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Support the preparation of monthly cargo reports, including inventory, movement summaries, and reconciliation of stock versus records. Assist in scheduling and coordinating transportation from the wharf to the site in collaboration with logistics teams. Monitor inventory levels at the wharf, including fuel, and support stock control activities. Assist in preparing reports and data analysis to support operational decision-making and identify discrepancies or bottlenecks. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies in all documentation and cargo handling procedures. Communicate effectively with wharf workers, drivers, contractors, and other stakeholders to support logistics activities.
Qualifications/Skills And ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in logistics, inventory management, or related fields is a plus. 1-3 years of experience supporting logistics, warehouse, or administrative functions, preferably in a mining or industrial environmentAdditional Competencies RequirementsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience in managing cargo manifests, inventory reconciliation, and reporting. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Basic understanding of cargo documentation, safety, and environmental regulations. Ability to work in remote and challenging conditions. Experience with logistics software or ERP systems.
Prior experience with fuel or hazardous materials management. Certifications in safety or logistics (e. g. , OSHA, inventory management). Working ConditionsPosition based at the OKO Project site. Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days OffTransport, accommodations, and meals provided on site. Compensation Package1-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.
