Job Description

Our ProfileIn 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

To Ensure The Achievement Of This Large-scale Project, G Mining Ventures Is Looking For An Experienced And Motivated Individual To Fill The Position OfLong Term PlannerThe Long Term Planner is responsible for the strategic planning, scheduling, and coordination of all maintenance activities to ensure the continuous, efficient, and safe operation of mining equipment and infrastructure. The role focuses on creating long-term maintenance plans to minimize downtime, extend equipment life, and optimize resource utilization. This position will work closely with various departments, across GMining Ventures Company, to deliver a seamless maintenance strategy.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage long-term maintenance plans and schedules for mining equipment and facilities. Collaborate with the operations team to understand the long-term production schedule and integrate maintenance planning with production goals. Create detailed maintenance plans based on equipment condition, manufacturer recommendations, and historical performance data. Analyze and assess the potential for equipment failures, downtime, and maintenance requirements to forecast and plan accordingly. Work with the engineering team to plan and implement improvements, upgrades, and capital projects. Ensure all planned maintenance activities are carried out safely and within regulatory requirements.

Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of required parts, tools, and materials. Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs and metrics, providing insights to improve maintenance strategies and practices. Work with the maintenance team to identify and troubleshoot recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions. Ensure that all maintenance records and documentation are accurately maintained and readily accessible. Provide technical support and expertise to other maintenance and operations personnel. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance processes.

Qualifications/Skills And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering At least 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry and record-keepingWorking ConditionsPosition based at the OKO Project site. Work Schedule – 14 days on 7 days OffTransport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
