The Mine Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of workforce training across mining operations. This includes developing training plans, delivering and tracking training programs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development throughout the workforce. Key Areas of Responsibility & DutiesCoordinate and deliver onboarding, equipment, and task-specific training for mine employees and contractors. Develop and maintain training materials, competency assessments, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Schedule and track training sessions, certifications, and renewals to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records in Learning Management Systems or training databases. Collaborate with operations, safety, HR, and technical services departments to identify training needs and develop relevant programs. Conduct field assessments to verify on-the-job competency and compliance with safe work procedures. Assist in incident investigations and recommend additional training or retraining where needed. Coordinate third-party training providers and manage relationships with external training organizations. Support continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and updating content accordingly. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence through consistent training practices.
Qualifications/Skills And ExperienceTechnical training diploma in occupational health & safety, or mining operations preferred. + relative years of work experience. Minimum 5 years of mining experience, with at least 2 years in a training, safety, or supervisory role. Knowledge of mining operations, mobile and fixed equipment, safety systems, and regulatory frameworks. Experience developing and delivering training content in classroom and field settings. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, training software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, production environment. Working ConditionsPosition based at the OKO Project site.
