Transportation SupervisorJob SummaryThe Transportation Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel in support of mining operations. This role ensures all transport activities are conducted efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards. Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate daily transportation logistics to ensure timely delivery and pickup of equipment, materials, and supplies to and from mining sites. Schedule and dispatch trucks and drivers in accordance with operational needs. Track and monitor vehicle locations, status, and load information using GPS or fleet management systems.
Maintain communication with drivers, supervisors, and vendors to resolve issues or delays. Assist in managing transportation documentation such as manifests, delivery notes, and inspection reports. Monitor compliance with transport-related safety regulations and procedures, including permits and load restrictions. Support the maintenance schedule by reporting vehicle service needs and defects. Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping for all transportation activities. Assist with cost tracking and reporting for transportation operations. Coordinate with third-party carriers and contractors when needed. Contribute to the development and implementation of transportation policies and process improvements.
Lead and supervise the Transportation Coordinators and DriversCoordinate charter flights with our air contactor for flights to and from siteQualifications Skills And ExperienceDiploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation Management, or a related field. Experience in transportation or logistics coordination, preferably in a mining, construction, or heavy industry environment. Additional Qualifications – Competency Requirements Understanding of transport regulations and safety standards. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and respond to operational challenges.
