Job Description

As an Operational Excellence Lead at BIOMERICS Cartago, Costa Rica, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of operational excellence strategies and initiatives. This role requires a strong foundation in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, the ability to oversee improvement projects, and collaborate with teams to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities: Leadership skillsPlan, lead and execute the OpEx strategy and roadmap for the plantSupervise OpEx analystsInteract with upper management to deploy the OpEx culture within the site Support Process Improvement:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvement opportunities.Utilize Lean Six Sigma principles and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes and reduce waste to provide the site and business unit with a competitive advantage within the medical device contract manufacturing (CM) environment.Project Management:Assist in the planning, execution, and management of process improvement projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and deadlines.Monitor project progress, manage resources, and mitigate risks to ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives.Data Analysis and Reporting:Collect and analyze data to measure process performance, identify trends, and evaluate the impact of improvement efforts.Prepare regular reports and presentations outlining project status, key metrics, and recommendations for senior management.Use statistical tools and software to make data-driven decisions and identify trends and areas for improvement.Training and Implementation Support:Provide guidance, training, and support to teams involved in improvement projects, ensuring understanding and adherence to Lean Six Sigma methodologies.Collaborate with operational teams to implement changes and ensure sustainable process improvements. Continuous Improvement Culture:Promote a culture of continuous improvement by fostering awareness, participation, and engagement in operational excellence initiatives among employees.Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements following industry best practices such as Lean Six Sigma Techniques, DMAIC, TPMMonitor and report on the progress of improvement initiatives, ensuring they meet objectives and timelines.Documentation and Standardization:Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices documentation to ensure consistency and efficiency. Metrics and KPIs:Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of process improvements.Regularly report on the progress and success of operational excellence initiatives to management.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Business, or Operations Management). A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt) are a plus.Proven experience in process improvement and operational excellence within a manufacturing or medical devices industry, 5+ years of cross-functional manufacturing experience with a strong understanding of OPEX, Lean, Six Sigma and TPMStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data-driven decision-making.Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and process mapping tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.Project Management Certification (CAPM, PMP) is a plus.Lean Certifications: Greenbelt required (Blackbelt preferred)Languages:English: B2+, C1
