Overview:Are you an organized, resourceful problem solver who loves helping things run smoothly behind the scenes? We’re hiring experienced Virtual Operations Managers to support growing consumer brands and product-driven companies with day-to-day execution.This is a remote, flexible, contractor role for operations professionals who want meaningful, dynamic work with a variety of small to mid-sized companies without the inflexibility of a full-time office job.What You'll Do:As a Virtual Operations Manager you’ll act as an embedded team member inside a client’s business managing key functions that keep operations flowing. Responsibilities include:Receiving, processing, and fulfilling customer ordersCoordinating logistics with customers, suppliers, transportation and fulfillment partnersPlacing purchase orders for raw materials and maintaining production schedule timelinesSupporting inventory management and 3PL coordinationManaging recurring tasks and internal workflowsCreating documentation and maintaining systemsCommunicating with clarity and professionalism, both internally and externallyWorking inside tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Airtable, and Shopify (as needed)You’re not just checking boxes, you’re helping companies run smoother and scale with less friction.Who You Are:You’re a natural organizer and self-starterYou’re comfortable working in a spreadsheet and working with numbersYou’re proactive, tech-savvy, and solutions-orientedYou communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and on callsYou can manage multiple clients, each with their own tools and workflowsYou treat client businesses with professionalism, discretion, and careMust-Have Requirements:Based in the U.S. or CanadaAt least 3+ years of professional experience in operations, logistics, or coordination roles in the consumer products space (including CPG, food & beverage, beauty, apparel, wellness/supplements or other physical products) Availability to work during standard U.S. business hours (some flexibility welcome); must not have a full time job during the 8am–5pm windowComfortable with remote work, digital tools, and self-managementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHome Office Setup with a Mac or PC, smartphone, and reliable internetBonus (Not Required):Experience with eCommerce, DTC brands and Shopify platform Experience with retailers like Walmart, Target, Amazon Experience working with ERPs and/or accounting software, particularly QuickbooksFamiliarity with platforms like Shopify, ShipBob, or FreightviewPrevious remote work experienceSystems thinking or SOP development skillsFamiliarity automating workflows Compensation & Structure:Contract position, paid hourlyFlexible hours (minimum availability of 10–20 hours/week)Work with multiple growing clients in the consumer brand spaceOngoing opportunities for growth and long-term client placementsHow to Apply:Apply here and through https://optlyhq.com/jobs and tell us why operations is where you thrive.
