Oracle Database Administrator

Are you a skilled Oracle database engineer with developer mindset? Then you should join our Alliance Cloud team!In this position, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multi-functional team, including business analysts, product managers, software engineers and test engineers where Oracle is used as a database for a Java application.The Database Engineer position requires crafting, developing, maintaining and deploying Oracle database solutions in Production. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in Oracle database administration, design and SQL tuning. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and being able to work fast-paced, Agile environment are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities:- Provide expertise around Oracle database related topics, to ensure consistency with accepted industry standards and effective approaches.- Optimize application SQL queries to extract and manipulate data efficiently.- Perform database performance tuning and optimization to ensure efficient query execution and data retrieval in a distributed architecture.- Ensure data integrity and security by implementing accurate data validation and access controls.- Implement changes in Production (requires physical presence in the office at least 2 days/week).- Collaborate with database administrators to supervise and maintain the health and performance of Oracle databases.- Collaborate with business analysts and software engineers to analyse user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.- Analyse and understand impact of Oracle database patches and upgrades on the projects databases and act as Oracle domain expert.- Stay up to date with the latest Oracle technologies, tools, and trends to suggest improvements and drive innovation in database development. Must-Have:- Proficiency in SQL and database architecture and design principles- Proficiency in Oracle performance tuning- Experience with Oracle Partitioning feature- Experience with Oracle security like Database Vault and data encryption Nice to have:- Familiar with Java related development and ability to work with Java developers- Elastic Search- Git- Docker/Kubernetes- Work experience in an Agile environment- Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).- Demonstrable experience as an Oracle Expert or similar role, with a solid grasp of Oracle database concepts, architecture, and data modelling.- Knowledge of performance tuning tools & techniques to optimize database queries and operations e.g. Explain Plan, Autotrace, AWR- Familiarity with Oracle tools and technologies, such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Developer, Scheduler.- Ability to work both independently and collaborate in a team environment.- Great communication skills to optimally interact with multi-functional teams and stakeholders, across all levels.- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle various tasks simultaneously. Work Arrangement:Hybrid modelLocation:BrusselsIf you are a hard-working Database Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to challenging projects and improve your skills, we encourage you to apply!
