Either way, we have some scope, so this is an opportunity to join our energetic, innovative, small team at Meringa Station. As a shepherd, you’ll work closely with the farm manager, who will support your growth and development.

The FarmMeringa Station is a 1,471 effective ha rolling hill property, located 22 km from Taumarunui. It is primarily high performing sheep and beef breeding/ finishing property, carrying 16,000 su. It has excellent access, with well-established tracking throughout, Stock water is reticulated water, troughs, or dams.

Producing 8,800 kg of pasture DM/ha/yr and running 16,000 stock units (approx. 9,000 sheep and 7,000 Beef cattle) across a 1,471ha effective platform. Most of the farm is lamb finishing, despite just 33% of the property being cultivatable and 41% moderate hill country. You’re practical and always looking for ways to do the job better.
