Department: Design and Product Location: Los Angeles HQCompensation: $100,000 - $120,000 / yearDescriptionSKIMS are looking for an experienced packaging designer to develop creative and cost-effective packaging designs for our products. As a packaging designer, you will work to develop functional, eye-catching packaging designs that resonate with SKIMS target market and comply with state health and safety regulations.To ensure success as a packaging designer, you should have a good eye for style and in-depth knowledge of packaging regulations. A top-class packaging designer should be able to analyze market trends and create product packaging that is both eye-catching and functional.Key ResponsibilitiesConcept and Design innovative packaging solutions that reflect SKIMS’ elevated brand aesthetic and enhance the overall consumer experience.Maintain and evolve the SKIMS packaging system, ensuring consistency across product lines, retail formats, and seasonal launches.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, timelines, and constraintsPartner with the Creative and Marketing teams to ensure packaging aligns with campaign storytelling, merchandising strategies, and brand standards.Partner with graphic designers and copywriters to finalize packaging text, graphics, and visual detailsWork closely with Product Development and Production teams to ensure feasibility, cost alignment, and manufacturability of packaging designsProduce detailed specifications and handoff documents for suppliers; review prototypes and samples to ensure accuracy and high-quality executionWork with packaging suppliers, printers, and vendors to test, refine, and qualify materials, finishes, and prototypesProduce packaging mock-ups to support design reviews and decision-makingConduct competitive and trend analysis to keep packaging relevant, engaging, and aligned with market expectationsIdentify suitable packaging materials and conduct feasibility studies to ensure functionality and cost efficiencyEnsure packaging meets sustainability targets, cost objectives, and manufacturability standardsPresent final designs and recommendations to stakeholders and company leadershipManage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high design qualitySkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseBachelor’s degree in industrial design, graphic design, art, or a similar field.Marketing experience would be preferable.Proven experience working as a packaging designer.Natural talent for design and a keen eye for detail.Experience with market research and product placement advertising.Familiarity with various packaging materials.Knowledge of consumer packaging health and safety regulations.Proficient with 3D design software including CAD or AutoCAD.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Benefits, Culture and PerksBenefits and CultureUp to 100% Company Paid Healthcare (medical, dental, vision)Kind Body Fertility Benefits 401(k) savings plan with up to 4% matchUnlimited PTO Full Access to LinkedIn learningEmployee Discounts Perks (HQ Location)Free weekly catered lunch at HQ – M/T/W/ThDog-Friendly office on a Thursday and FridayFree Swag Giveaways Annual Holiday PartyAnnual Summer Party Invitations to pop-ups and other company events Complimentary daily office snacks and beverages
