With a customer-first mindset, we make doing business with McCain easy.About The Role.At McCain, Packing Operators are business-critical team members who ensure the safe and efficient running of our packing lines for locally grown potato products. As part of our 24/7 facility in Timaru, you will join a small, supportive team maintaining product quality and safety standards. Your role is hands-on and fast-paced, involving machine operation and manual handling, with a focus on both teamwork and individual responsibility.Full training will be provided, ensuring you have the knowledge and support needed to succeed in your role.What You’ll Be Doing.Operate and troubleshoot packing equipment such as graders, weighers, baggers, case packers, tapers, coders, pallet wrappers, and labellersAccurately complete quality and operational documentationMaintain exceptional hygiene and food safety practicesProactively identify and report workplace hazardsUphold the line productivity, safety, and product qualityParticipate in a roster consisting of 12-hour shifts:2 days (7am–7pm), 2 nights (7pm–7am), followed by 4 days offPerform manual handling tasks as requiredSolve operational problems quickly and effectivelyCollaborate with teammates, supporting a safe and productive environmentWhat You’ll Need To Be Successful.Strong commitment to health and safety as your top priorityPrevious machine operation experience (advantageous but not essential)Previous forklift operation experience (advantageous but not essential)Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilityComfortable using simple touch screen controls as part of daily tasksGood computer and data entry skillsClear communication and a positive, team-focused attitudeWillingness to learn, with demonstrated initiative and reliabilitySufficient strength and fitness to manage role’s physical demandsLegally entitled to work in New ZealandAbility to undergo pre-employment medical, drug screening, and reference checksAbout McCainTo learn more about McCain and how we provide you with opportunities to make an impact that matters, please visit - https://www.mccain.com/about-us/our-purpose-values/Leadership principles.At McCain, our leadership principles guide how we engage with customers, collaborate as a team, and achieve success.
