The RoleDepartment : EL/PLLocation : BirminghamRole : ParalegalThe TeamIf you are interested in building your expertise in the biggest, market leading Casualty practice in the UK, now is the time to join Clyde and Co.This role will be working in the Employers and Public Liability team within the Casualty region of the firm. The team deals with a wide variety of work for major insurers and private nominations. The work is complex and often involves representing household names.RoleThe ideal candidate will be a talented Paralegal/Litigation Executive who has prior experience of handling an EL/PL caseload, working on behalf of the major insurance firms.The team offers a supportive environment and a hybrid working week with 2 days in our Manchester office and 3 days working from home.Key ResponsibilitiesHandling a caseload of Employers Liability and Public Liability claims from inception through to closure, under supervision.Day to day file managementPreparing court bundlesDrafting letters of instruction, requests, Instructions to CounselPreparing briefing notes, action plans, file notes and attendance notesReviewing reports and statements and other relevant documentsDrafting and proof reading documentsLiaising with and meeting clients with a high level of professionalismDelegation to support services for photocopying, scanning, filing and other administrative tasksConducting research and keeping up to date with legal and industry practicesManaging day to day deadlines with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectivelyStrong written and verbal communication skillsEnsure files and spreadsheets are maintained and updated including Management InformationAdhoc tasks as requiredEssential Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience working in Personal Injury teams is essential;Previous experience working on matters on the defendant side is desirable not essential;Excellent attention to detail;Excellent communication skills.Excellent organisational skillsThe ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast paced environment.Willingness to learn and develop skills / knowledgeA professional manner with the ability to build relationships internally and externallyOur ValuesWe Want People To Join Us Who Truly Identify With Our Values.
